CTS #231

Hi, you guys!  It's a happy Thursday here but it's SO muggy outside.  I know I said I was ready for summer when it was winter but...I'm not ready!  Ha ha ha!  I think today will be a pool day or a stay in the craft room day.  Luckily, I get to share a little something cool with you guys!  It's the new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  I had a great time with this sketch and I hope that you will too!  Here's my card:

I finally got to try out a new to me stamp company, The Stamp Market.  I ordered a bit of this and a bit of that and when I saw this week's sketch, I knew I was going to use the Hello Hello Stamp & Cut Bundle.  I love all the option with this stamp set!  I decided to layer the two Hellos one stamped in yellow, one in teal.  I cut a piece of coral glitter tape at an angle to serve as the banner in the sketch and added the word friend cut from teal card stock.  I added a cute heart and a little dot to finish it off.  Here's a closer peek:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today!  I hope you enjoyed it and will join us over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  We love having you play along.  The team has created some AMAZING cards and you won't want to miss out.  See you there!

Bobbing Along With Frantic Stamper

Bobbing along, bobbing along on the bottom of the beautiful briny sea!  He he he, I sang that all weekend at the water park with the boys.  They may not have enjoyed it as much as I did.  ;)  I know for sure you will enjoy this new and fun summer release, however.  If you haven't yet, you must check out the new Frantic Stamper July Release products.  I've been having a blast creating and this one is one of my favorites!  Check it out:

I'm slightly addicted to the Rolling Wave Card Panel Die (FRA-DIE-10257) so, I had to use it again on this card.  I found this fun splashy looking background paper in a 6x6 paper pack on my shelf.  If you don't know me already, I'm addicted to pattern paper.  I loved how the tealish pattern looked with the yellow so, I cut that using the Rolling Wave Card Panel Die.  I wanted to make sure the background showed through but didn't make the card too busy so I added a layer of vellum behind my wave panel.  I created my sentiment with chipboard letters as well as letter block stickers.  I added my little sub created using the Submarine Die (FRA-DIE-10249) cut from some other fun papers from the same watery pack and vellum windows.  I placed my sub and then added a few clear sequins to finish off the card.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I can't wait to share more of what I created with this awesome July release from Frantic Stamper.  See you soon!

CTS #230

It's another fun sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week and it was the perfect excuse for me to use some of my favorite products!  I hope you'll enjoy my card this week.  We are gearing up for a fun weekend of Drum Corp International shows and some water park fun.  Being former members of the USAFA Drum & Bugle Corps, Brent and I can't resist a good field show and we can't wait to take the boys to see the Colts perform tomorrow evening.  I can already feel the drums!

Our sketch this week is super fun and I broke out the Lil' Inker Designs Color Blocking Die for my take.

I picked out some fun patterned papers and cut them with the Color Blocking Die and used them to make three fun card bases with cool color blocked designs.  I swear I love this die for that!  I picked my favorite combo and then added a strip of red card stock cut using Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangle.  Next, I layered a cool flower from the same paper collection before layering on my sentiment, Happy Birthday Border Die.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll join us this week at CAS(E) this Sketch.

Something's Fishy - Frantic Stamper

Is it just me or is this new release cooler than a dip in the ocean?  If you haven't yet, you must check out the new Frantic Stamper July Release products.  I've been having a blast creating and this one is one of my favorites!  Check it out:

I wanted to use the new Rolling Wave Card Panel Die (FRA-DIE-10257) in a unique way so I cut it in vellum and used the negative pieces layered behind the Coral and Seaweed Oval (FRA-DIE-10234 ) which I cut out from this soft blue patterned paper.  I layered the two on some green cardstock and trimmed around the edge to give just a touch of green to the card before layering it on this yellow striped cardbase.  Next, I cut some of the adorable fish using the Three Fish Die (FRA-DIE-10247) and some orange paper.  I layered them in the seaweed and coral using foam tape and gave them some fishy google eyes.  Next, I created a sentiment using some cardstock sentiments layered with a fun banner and some hearts.  I loved how this area tied together the green and yellow papers I chose.  Finally, I finished it all off with some sequin bubbles.  Here's a closer look:

CTS #229

Good morning you guys!  It's time for another awesome sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  This week has been a blast because it started with a visit and lunch with an awesome lady and her husband!  I got to meet Michele in the flesh!!!  It was SO awesome to get to hug her and chat.  We had a blast and I can't wait to head up to her neck of the woods to say hi again.  :)  She's every bit as sweet as you would expect...maybe even sweeter!  I know she's having a blast on her amazing trip but next time, Michele, Iowa has some cool things to stay and see.  Ha ha ha ha!  I'm stealing this picture of us from Michele's Instagram because I am absolutely terrible at taking photos...I really need to work on that!

This week's sketch is super fun.  I love all the possibility with it.  You will love how many different ways the team made and there own and our guest designer hit it out of the park.  So, make sure to stop by the CAS(E) this Sketch blog to see the sketch and the team's takes.  Here's my creation:

I used some watercolor looking patterned paper and cut it into tile like shapes before adding them to the bubbly looking paper with foam tape.  Next, I used some new dies from the July Frantic Stamper release to create an underwater scene.  I cut the Coral and Seaweed Oval from black cardstock and then trimmed the coral and seaweed from the oval to add to the corner of my card.  Next, I cut one of the Three Fish from black also and sent him swimming in the tiled sea.  I added some enamel dots for bubbles and a sentiment sticker.  I liked it but wasn't in love so, I decided it needed a black frame to make the other black pop.  Since I had already stuck everything in place, I broke out a ruler and a maker and drew a frame in.  It's not perfect but I actually love the hand drawn look.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my blog and I hope to see you at CAS(E) this Sketch!

You Are Lovely

Hi, everyone!!  I'm finally back and caught up after all the crazy travel last week.  Can I just say, driving from Iowa to Wisconsin to Ohio and back to Iowa in less than a week will do a person in.  I'm pooped!  Luckily, everything went well and we made it to pick up all children involved.  Now everyone is home and I can clean and do laundry...wait!?!?!  ;)  Luckily, I had a little time this morning to share a card I created before I left.  I hope you enjoy it!

So, I created this card for the Lil' Inker Designs June release but then I didn't like.  Well, I changed my mind again and now I do.  Ha ha!  I started by stamping my sentiment using the gorgeous Lovely and Sweet Stamps on a piece of vellum with Archival Ink.  I cut my vellum with Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangle to frame my sentiment and then got to work adding extra touches in the corners using more stamps from Lovely and Sweet Stamps.  I layered it on a piece of black cardstock also cut with Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangle and then layered the whole thing on a piece of patterned paper.  I felt like it needed a little something more so I used my white gel pen to add some extra accents here and there.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today.  I hope you are having an awesome week and are ready for a great weekend!  See you soon!

Frantic Stamper Carousel Horse

Good morning you guys!  Today, I'm sharing my final creation with the Frantic Stamper June Release products.  I've been having a blast with these products and I hope you have enjoyed my creations.  It's an amazing release, jam packed with fun.  My card today features the Small Carousel Horse.

I wanted to keep the Small Carousel Horse cut as simple as possible.  I stuck to white but cut it out of watercolor paper just in case I wanted to add color later.  Then I started creating the cardbase that the image inspired.  I started going in a rainbow direction but when I set this glitter tapes out together, I fell in love with the color combo.  It felt like cotton candy or something and went so well with the horse.  I found some patterned paper that coordinated but didn't take over and layered on my tapes before adding a chipboard heart and my Small Carousel Horse cut.  I felt it needed a little something darker to ground everything so I layered it on a brown woodgrain cardbase.  Finally, I found a sentiment sticker and it looked just right among the stripes.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I hope you have enjoyed what I created with this awesome June release from Frantic Stamper.  Have a great day!
