CTS #185

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  I had a wonderful weekend packed with crafting, shopping, and amazing times with some amazing ladies!  I wouldn't trade our time at the Craft House for the world.  Every time I get to attend a Stamping Away weekend, I leave with a big smile on my face that just won't go away.  There is nothing like hanging out with so many fun and talented women to get your crafty mojo going.  I feel so lucky to get to attend and so thankful that Amy and Laurie put so much of their time and effort into ensuring we have a great time.  Just look at all these happy faces (and Jill's happy forehead, he he).

What a great time!  You can have a great time this week by playing along with our sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.  Here's my take on the sketch:

I started my card this week by choosing patterned papers to layer.  I loved this floral with the polkadot but to ensure you see the separation of top and bottom as well as you do in the sketch, I also added a vellum layer.  I cut the floral paper with the Fringe Scalloped Border Builder Die Set and the vellum with a similar shaped Dual Dotted Border Builder Die before layering them on the polkadot paper.  Next, I stamped and cut some flowers using  Fresh Cut Flowers and the Fresh Cut Flowers Dies.  I arranged these on the card front along with a yellow Hello Word Die cut.  A touch of white with my gel pen and some pearls finish the card off nicely.  I hope you like it!

Thanks so much for checking out my card this week and I hope to see you over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  It's a fun challenge and I just know you'll love it!  Here's what I used for my card today:

CAS(E) this Sketch #194

Good morning!!!  I'm up and at 'em early this morning and heading to Kansas for a super fun crafty weekend with some AMAZING ladies!  It is always a great time and the weekend always goes way too fast.  Before I head out, I wanted to make sure to share my card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  It's a super fun and easy sketch so, if you haven't joined us, it's a great week to take the plunge!

I hope you like my bright take on this week's sketch!  I started with some rainbow patterned paper and I cut the really cool almost checkerboard pattern using the Hello Beautiful Dies.  Then, I attached it to a black card base so they black peeked through the patterned paper.  Next, I added stamps and a sentiment from the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set.  I went back in using a white gel pen to add a little extra interest to my black design and I connected the 4 little bump designs, from the Super Kids Stamp Set, with a straight line using a copic multi-liner.

It turned out well and will be super easy to mail!  I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch and will join us this week over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  You won't regret it!  Here are the products I used today:

October Is For Birthdays!

Happy Tuesday!  It's another gorgeous October day here (well, it will be when the sun comes up) and I made a few cards I wanted to share with you guys.  It seems like most families have a month or two jam packed with birthdays.  Almost like everyone in the family was born in that month for some reason.  That month for me is October.  I've got birthdays here and birthdays there.  I go through a ton of birthdays cards in October.  So, I decided to see what I could do to make some quick and easy birthday cards for easy mailing.  Here's what I came up with:

I used the American Crafts 12x12 Warm and Cozy paper pack as my starting off point and then just scraps around my desk area.  I knew I needed to use up some scraps and the easiest way to make birthday cards and make great use of the full paper, is to use the Lil' Inker Designs Happy Birthday Border Die.  So, I went to work combining papers and using both the positive and negative of the die. I layered and combined and these are just three of the different looks I came up with.

I think they'll be perfect for male or female and super easy to mail because they are nice and flat.  I hope you enjoy them and play with some of the scraps and bits you have laying around!  You can make some really fun creations.

Here's what I used today:

CTS #193

Hi everyone!!  It another fun day at CAS(E) this Sketch and I happen to LOVE the sketch we are sharing today.  It was so fun to play with and I think you will really enjoy what all the other designers did with it.  Gorgeous cards!!

We've been busy with harvest here and cross country, gymnastics, drum lessons, band, school, get the picture.  It's crazy but now that I have it all planned out and know what to expect, I'm loving it!  Yes, I am TOTALLY a type A personality and I hate when things aren't planned for.  I think I'm rubbing off on the boys except when it comes to getting the dirty laundry in the hamper.  What is up with that?  Ha ha!

Well, here's the card I created for our sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I used some fun products from Reverse Confetti for my card.  I love these flowers!!!!  I decided to pair them with a black and white coloring page like background and I love the combo.  I hope you like it!  I do think my black ink pad needs a little re-inking though.  It's getting a little thin.  Ha ha!

I hope you like my card today and will come join us at CAS(E) this Sketch!  We love to see what you come up with.  See you there!!

CTS #192

Good morning and happy Thursday!  I hope you are ready for a fun sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.  I think you'll really enjoy it and the design team created some amazing cards with the inspiration!

We've had a busy week getting ready for harvest, running to cross country meets, orthodontist appt, etc, etc, etc.  Life is just busy with kids, isn't it?

I do hope you'll jump in and join us for the challenge this week.  Here's what I did with the sketch:

I started my card with some patterned paper as a background then I stamped my flowers from the Mini Blooms stamp set after inking it up and stamping it off on another paper first to get a washed out look.  I then filled in some of the blooms with raspberry ink to make them pop.  I also added some blooms that were die cut to hold up the vellum banner for the sentiment.  A little bling and it was finished.

Pretty simple and easy but totally cute!  I hope you enjoyed my card today and will join us for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge this week.

Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop

Though National Coffee Day isn't until September 29th, today's the day we all get to rejoice in the wonderment that is coffee by kicking off the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop!!  Oh coffee, how much do I love thee, let me count the ways.  Well, that would take far too long!  I am blessed to be in the company of tons of other amazing coffee lovers and card makers.  What a great mix so make sure you check out all the amazing creations all along the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  Here's the card I created for this super fun hop.

I was really feeling the crisp fall breeze in the air (even if it is in the 80's here) when I started this card and chose this really cool sweater weave patterned paper from the Warm & Cozy paper pad.  I used a bunch of papers from that pack on this card.  It was just too perfect not to.  I cut some strips of other papers to layer across my card towards the bottom before created my coffee cup using the Lil' Inker Designs Coffee Cozy Die Set.  I added a fun woodgrain and floral coffee cuff and then a little steam with the amazing stitched steam from this die set.  It's the coolest!  Next, I stamped this little thankful banner from the So Thankful Stamps and added a little shading to the banner and the coffee cup lid to make them really pop.  Here's a closer look:

I hope you like my fall coffee card and I hope you'll take part in the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop.  There are a ton of awesome sponsors including Lil' Inker Designs.  Don't miss out on all the fun!  Here's what I used:
